Fromm Clayvin Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

FROMM Wines, was established in 1992 in Marlborough by Swiss winemakers Georg Fromm and Hätsch Kalberer, and has since gained a reputation for producing elegant, expressive wines with minimal intervention.

Best known for its single-vineyard Pinot Noir, FROMM also produces Syrah, Chardonnay, Malbec, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc, all showcasing the unique characteristics of their vineyard sites.

Their wines are crafted using wild ferments, neutral oak aging, and no fining or filtration, resulting in pure, textural, and balanced expressions of Marlborough’s terroir.
Georg Fromm returned to his family winery in Malans Switzerland in 2008, and today, Today the passion for wine continues, now under the careful eye of old family friend and owner Pol Lenzinger, and is led by winemakers Kalberer and Daniel Ah-Loy, who continue its legacy.

Grapes from the esteemed Clayvin Vineyard were hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed to gently extract the juice while minimising phenolic extraction. Fermentation used indigenous yeasts, and a 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in Burgundian oak barrels, with careful management to ensure a subtle wood influence that complements the wine's mineral and fruit characteristics.
