Framingham Classic Riesling 2023

Framingham Wines, established in 1981, is a boutique winery located in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. The original vineyard was established by Wellington engineer Rex Brooke-Taylor who took the name Framingham from his ancestral hometown near Norwich, England.

Renowned for its innovative approach to winemaking, Framingham produces a diverse range of high-quality wines, including Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.

The winery is particularly celebrated for its Riesling, sourced from some of the region’s oldest Riesling vineyards, leading Jancis Robinson, MW to call Framingham "New Zealand's finest Riesling producer". Framingham's winemaking philosophy emphasises individuality and experimentation, crafting wines that reflect both regional characteristics and he region's terroir and the team's creative spirit. In addition to their commitment to quality winemaking, Framingham fosters a vibrant community through the Framingham Social Club, celebrating fine wines, music, and events.

From old vines on stony soils, hand-picked grapes were gently pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel. Fermentation was stopped early to retain a touch of sweetness and vibrant acidity. A short period on lees added texture before bottling.
