Loveblock Awatere Valley 'Tee' Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Loveblock Wines, founded by Erica and Kim Crawford, is a flag bearer for organic, and sustainable winemaking in New Zealand, and for being responsible for the health of the land and community for future generations.

It’s an approach which the owners are passionate about, and which extends to their winemaking philosophy too. They make ‘clean, true wines’, which reflect balance, finesse, and a sense of place without excessive manipulation.

As a result, Loveblock’s wines tend to be softer, more elegant, and subtle, setting them apart from many of their regional counterparts. And for Erica and Kim, this is a creative journey too, making wines without the pressures of conformity. For them, it’s never a sacrifice on wine quality – it’s an exploration of taste.

From the certified-organic Woolshed vineyard in the Lower Dashwood subregion of the Awatere Valley. The grapes were machine-harvested in cool autumn mornings, then pressed and settled. Fermentation was started with organic yeast, and no sulphur was added at any stage. Each time the wine was moved, green tea extract was used as a natural antioxidant. Made without fining, and bottled to showcase purity and precision.
