Legacy of Winemaking and Stewardship

Legacy of Winemaking and Stewardship

Hunter’s Wines is deeply connected to the Wairau Valley, one of Marlborough’s most renowned sub-regions, known for producing exceptionally vibrant and expressive wines. The Sauvignon Blanc is vibrant, zesty, and mineral-driven, showcasing classic Marlborough freshness. Their Pinot Noir is elegant and fruit-forward, shaped by the structured clay soils of the Southern Valleys on which it is grown. And Hunter’s famed MiruMiru™ sparkling is crisp and refined and a perfect example of Marlborough’s Méthode Traditionnelle wines.

Hunter’s is more than a business, it’s a family legacy and ‘home’. Not surprisingly therefore, their approach emphasises their respect for the land and the environment. Their vineyards are Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) certified, and they use ‘dry farming’ techniques, and minimal intervention winemaking, and are embarked on various programmes to re-introduce native plants and enhance biodiversity.

“If there is one company that started the whole international story called Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc it is Hunter's - they got the magic started.” Bob Campbell MW
